About The Position

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring CNC machines to ensure quality production, troubleshoot machine controls, and maintain production levels. This role requires a strong understanding of blueprints, machining processes, and quality measurement tools, along with the ability to work safely and efficiently in a multi-tasked environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, understand and apply information obtained from blueprints and job specifications.
  • Strong mathematical abilities and the ability to remember words, numbers and other information.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment when carrying out duties and to maintain good working relationships with customers and fellow employees.
  • 2-4 years of experience operating a CNC machine.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in machining and manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of quality measurement tools.
  • Ability to work safely in a machine shop.
  • Diploma or GED.
  • Engineering Drawing Reading - understanding dimensions, reading drawings, notes, bill of materials, and tolerance.
  • Equipment Knowledge - Demonstrate the ability to program and operator Okuma lathes, Mazak and Haas CNC milling machines.
  • Math Skills - Display the ability of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).

Nice To Haves

  • Okuma Lathe and Mazak Lathe experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate/monitor CNC machines during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Support the assembly floor and machine shop as needed.
  • Produce machined parts to close tolerance dimensions.
  • Program and troubleshoot machine controls using Mazatrol, Fanuc, Okuma G-code, or DynaPath software.
  • Work efficiently to maintain production levels by operating multiple machines within a work cell.
  • Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of high-quality products with minimal wasted time and materials.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed procedures.
  • Perform milling, turning, drilling, taping, de-burring, and inspection tasks.
  • Accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance regarding machine set-up.
  • Work in a multi-tasked environment.
