About The Position

The CNC Operator is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires advanced knowledge of CNC programming, machining processes, and quality inspection standards. The CNC Operator ensures parts meet exact tolerances, performs program optimizations, conducts inspections, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. The role also requires collaborating with the manufacturing team, and maintaining compliance with ISO quality standards and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining and programming experience, with demonstrated proficiency in Fanuc controls.
  • Strong background in CAM programming and CNC setup/operation.
  • Experience working within ISO quality environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to run complex parts to tight tolerances.
  • Reliable commute to work is required.

Nice To Haves

  • technical certification or associate degree in Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Previous leadership or mentoring experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CAM programming for CNC machinery.
  • Manufacture parts from drawings, including material take-offs, tooling selection, machine setups, operation of CNC machinery, program optimization, and part inspection.
  • Perform in-process and First Article Inspections (FAI).
  • Apply expertise in Fanuc Controls, G & M code, hand program edits, and program merging.
  • Perform tool offset adjustments for wear and nominal part dimensions.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement concepts, including setup reduction, fixture/tooling productivity improvements, and program efficiency enhancements.
  • Utilize Renishaw probes, including manual probe programming using probe macros.
  • Lead other machinists by training, mentoring, and directing the activities of junior machinists.
  • Manage multiple machines simultaneously and/or oversee other machining operations.
  • Create accurate setup sheet information for efficient production.
  • Manufacture fixtures and assist in pilot run program prove-outs, communicating results with the Manufacturing Manager.
  • Perform 100% inspection of new parts to ensure quality standards.
  • Assist with cutting tool selection, upgrades, and testing of new tooling.
  • Interpret detail drawings with a strong understanding of GD&T, true position, and datum structures.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO Quality Systems standards and processes.
  • Apply advanced trigonometry and geometry to solve machining challenges.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve production targets.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Manager.
