About The Position

American Manufacturing Solutions is seeking an experienced CNC Operator to join their team. This is a full-time, non-exempt position working 40 hours per week on the day shift (M-F, 7am to 3:30pm). The role involves operating CNC mills and lathes for both simple and complex, short and long-run production. Responsibilities include performing documented in-process inspections, updating setup and tooling documentation, managing tool offsets, and assisting in training less experienced staff. Requirements

  • 1 year minimum experience in CNC Operation
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Be attentive, attention to detail!

Nice To Haves

  • Mazak lathe experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC mill and lathe jobs simple to complex, short and long run production.
  • Perform documented in process inspections, update setup instructions, tooling / fixturing documentation as needed.
  • Assist in training of less experienced staff, manage tool offsets, and perform any other duties as needed.
  • Operate CNC mills or lathes to produce precision machined parts.
  • Read and interpret part documentation, work orders, setup and tooling instructions to meet production requirements.
  • Perform first and second article inspections, and in process inspections using precision measuring instruments.
  • Conduct daily preventative maintenance on machines and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Replace worn tooling as needed and perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean work environment.
  • Work with team members to produce products that meet customer requirements and assist in training other associates on machine operation.
  • Update records of machine setups, production runs, inspections, and suggest improvements to machining methods for efficiency.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner.
  • Accurate and complete time tracking with achievement of expected B-B cycles and shift yields.
  • Assist with training of other staff.
  • Understand and read blueprints, i.e. part views, definitions and foot notes.
  • Keep up with offline support tasks.
