3rd Shift CNC Operator
About The Position
This role is for a 3rd Shift CNC Operator responsible for operating and maintaining CNC lathe equipment. The operator will be expected to diagnose, troubleshoot, and make adjustments to the machinery, including managing tooling and ensuring parts meet size specifications. A key part of the role involves performing quality inspections using various measuring devices to ensure parts conform to blueprint requirements. The operator will also be responsible for data logging, performing preventative maintenance tasks, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives. Maintaining a clean work area and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor are also essential functions of this job. Attendance is critical.
Requirements
- High School Degree or equivalent.
- Familiarity with multiple types of presses and assembly sequences.
- Ability to use various gauging/measuring devices, ovens, sandblaster, die cutter and label maker.
- Mechanical Aptitude.
- Good math skills.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and make corrections and adjustments to CNC lathe equipment, including life tooling.
- Make insert changes and adjust to bring parts to size.
- Perform quality inspections using various gauging and measuring devices (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, plug gauges, bore gauges, etc.) to produce parts that conform to blueprint specifications.
- Learn and use the Data Log system at the machines.
- Perform preventative maintenance at the machines, including adding coolant and checking concentration, removing chip build-up, greasing chucks, checking and adding oil, and changing scrap barrels.
- Read blueprints.
- Adapt and grow by learning new equipment or changes to existing equipment.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to eliminate waste, streamline processes, and increase productivity and quality.
- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Perform other job duties as required by the Supervisor.
- Maintain attendance at work.
