The CNC Operator sets up and operates CNC machine tools to manufacture parts accurately and efficiently while maintaining tooling inventory, supporting quality standards, and working safely in the tool room environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of CNC operator experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machine tools, Mastercam, blueprint reading, precision measuring, troubleshooting, and general manufacturing processes.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and able to communicate effectively and work with little supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous stamping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates CNC machine tools to manufacture parts accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintains tooling inventory.
  • Supports quality standards.
  • Works safely in the tool room environment.
  • Analyzes and interprets drawings and blueprints and plans machine setups with consideration for material type, tolerances, cutting tools, lubricants, coolants, and machine feeds.
  • Uses Mastercam and conversational programs to create forms, code parts for CNC use, and manufacture parts to required specifications.
  • Uses precision measuring and gauging tools during and after machining and determines standards for inspection of completed work and future repair needs.
  • Maintains inventory of CNC-related tools and supplies and keeps the work area neat, orderly, and properly stocked.
  • Observes plant safety rules, participates in tool design and process reviews, and communicates issues related to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and tooling.
  • Participates as a member of the Tool Room Team, supports best practices, attends team meetings, and contributes to organizational cohesiveness.
  • Performs other duties as directed.
  • Supports broader tool room and business objectives as needed.
