About The Position

The CNC Operator plays a critical role in manufacturing by operating Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines. This position is pivotal in ensuring that precision parts and components are produced to meet strict quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a methodical work ethic, advanced technical skills, and a thorough understanding of various machining processes.

Requirements

  • Experience operating CNC Lathes, Mills, or other CNC Machining Equipment.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments and tools relevant to quality assurance processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints and a willingness to learn geometric dimensions and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Willingness to learn technical knowledge of CNC machinery, tooling, and machining practices.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude, with an ability to effectively diagnose issues in machinery and tools.
  • A keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities to ensure high-quality output.
  • Regard for safety – Ability to follow safety rules and processes and keeps own safety and the safety of others in the forefront of every action.
  • Integrity – Ability to demonstrate consistency between words and actions. Follows through on commitments
  • Application of technical knowledge and skills – Ability to comprehend complex technical and specialized information.

  • Relevant certifications, vocational training, or an associate degree in a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of CNC machines, including but not limited to lathes and mills.
  • Configure machine settings according to specific production requirements by adjusting tool offsets.
  • Monitor machine operations continually to ensure optimal functioning throughout the entire production cycle, adjusting as necessary to promote productivity and quality.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to address production issues.
  • Analyze and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications, clearly understanding the necessary machining processes.
  • In coordination with quality personnel, conduct detailed inspections of finished parts using precision measuring equipment.
  • Performs other duties as directed, including but not limited to maintenance tasks and cleaning workstation.
