Operator I - CNC Operator
About The Position
The Gund Company has an immediate opening at our Fergus, Ontario manufacturing plant for a full-time CNC Router Operator to join our team! This opening is for our CNC Router department. The operator will be required to train on and run other equipment as needed. Since 1951, The Gund Company has been a family-owned manufacturer and fabricator of engineered material solutions specializing in customized electrical insulation parts. With 16+ facilities worldwide, we specialize in custom fabricated parts manufactured according to certified quality systems. We take a consultative, engineering approach to understanding customer needs and have a reputation for outstanding customer service and quality.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with prior hands-on, vocational, or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience.
- Experience with CNC milling machines or similar equipment.
- Strong basic math skills and the ability to use measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Flexibility to work overtime and adjust to emergency production needs.
- Ability to lift to 40 pounds and perform manual tasks as required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a custom manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with reading blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience with CNC milling machines or similar equipment.
Responsibilities
- Load, operate and manufacture a variety of parts using CNC machining centers to make custom parts according to customer orders and instructions written on Work Orders and blue prints
- Maintain count and perform packaging duties as required
- Perform routine daily machine maintenance including cleaning up and lubrication
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
