The operator plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and machining parameters, while interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). They verify settings by measuring parts and adhering to international standards. The role involves maintaining specifications through various machining operations, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, and adjusting controls. The operator is also responsible for maintaining equipment through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs. Continuity between shifts is maintained through documentation and communication. The position requires updating job knowledge through educational opportunities and technical publications, and contributing to organizational goals by adding value to job accomplishments. Other duties may be assigned.
