About The Position

Operates machine that shapes pipe fittings from plastic. Position requires continual presence at the plant to perform role.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and one year of experience in a relevant manufacturing environment or a completed training program.
• Must have knowledge of general operations of manufacturing machines and basic knowledge of FANUC controls. And, knowledge of Toshiba machines.
• Ability to read measuring tools such as measuring tape, pie tape and calipers.
• Ability to read and understand prints, drawings.
• Ability to detect defects with machining.
• Basic math skills that include geometry and trigonometry to calculate material fabrication.
• Position requires constant standing, kneeling, raising of arms to exercise control of machine, and climbing to gauge progress of cutting.
• Occasional lifting of up to 50lbs.
• Able to lift heavy equipment using hoists and forklifts.
• Able to stand for long periods and be adaptable to a changing work environment as well.
• Able to perform repetitive motions and must have strong finger dexterity.

Nice To Haves

• 6 months or more of experience operating lathes and mills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify proper set up of program and prove out to ensure safe machining of part.
• Deploy predetermined programs for cutting parts based on job orders.
• Rework parts, make offsets, complete clean up and deviations.
• Measure and mark dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as a guide for subsequent machining.
• Inspect work pieces throughout a production run.
• Clean and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on machines, tooling and parts.
• Inspect cutting tools for sharpness and usability.
• Detect malfunctions using precision measuring instruments such as calipers.
• Communicate with supervisors to resolve machining or quality issues.
