About The Position

As an Apprentice CNC Operator, you will support the setup and operation of lathe and milling machines while learning the fundamentals of precision machining in an aerospace manufacturing environment. You will work under the guidance of experienced machinists to develop skills in reading blueprints, measuring parts, and maintaining production quality standards. This role is designed for individuals looking to build a long-term career in CNC machining, with hands-on training and exposure to aircraft-grade manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in machining or manufacturing
  • Basic math skills and ability to work with measurements and tolerances
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced team members
  • Strong work ethic and reliability

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to machining, manufacturing, or shop environments (school or work)
  • Basic understanding of blueprints or technical drawings
  • Familiarity with hand tools or measurement tools
  • Enrollment in or completion of a machining or technical training program

Responsibilities

  • Assist in operating CNC lathe and milling machines under supervision
  • Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Perform basic measurements using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Support setup and tool changes on CNC machines
  • Monitor machines during production runs to ensure parts are being produced correctly
  • Assist in inspecting machined parts for accuracy and quality
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation
  • Follow all safety procedures and company quality standards
  • Collaborate with senior machinists, engineering, and quality teams
  • Participate in training to develop machining, tooling, and measurement skills
