About The Position

This role requires extensive experience working with various materials, understanding how they react to machining to ensure part outcomes. The operator will be responsible for maintaining equipment, adhering to safety procedures, and ensuring parts meet customer and company standards. This position involves working in a team atmosphere to ensure a smooth flow across all operations and requires good written and oral communication skills.

Requirements

Three years’ experience as a CNC Operator I
Experience working with various different types of material
Good written and oral communications skills

Operating 5+ axis machines is helpful.

Responsibilities

Operates mills and/or lathes by following work orders and engineering plans (blueprints), including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, and conditional switches.
Calculates requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry (GD&T).
Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; proving out part programs.
Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting offsets; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintains equipment by completing assigned preventive maintenance; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling maintenance for repairs and/or assistance.
Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Completes production and quality logs as assigned.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
Follows quality standards to ensure parts are to the customer and company standards.
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
