About The Position

This position is for a CNC Milling Machinist on the 2nd shift, working Monday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM. A 15% shift differential is effective for the 2nd shift. The role involves operating CNC multi-axis milling machines, setting up and changing over jobs, and working with hard metals. The machinist will be expected to run multiple machines simultaneously if feasible and interpret CNC programs and operation sheets. Proficiency in mathematics and the use of precision measuring tools is required, along with knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and the ability to work within tight tolerances.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in an aerospace or high precision manufacturing environment preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience operating CNC multi-axis Milling machine preferred.
  • Experience setting up and changing over jobs on CNC equipment.
  • Exceptional mechanical ability and strong mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving ability with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to solve complex issues.
  • Proficient in mathematics and be able to use a calculator
  • Ability to use Fanuc controls and make offsets as required by the program
  • Ability to load part onto a fixture
  • Ability to load parts and fixtures onto hoists and operate hoist to load part onto machine
  • Ability to read and interpret CNC Programs at the machine
  • Must be able to read tool sheets and set up tools for use on a job or part
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools such as gauges, swing gauges, calipers, and micrometers
  • Familiarity with operation of Right-Angle Heads
  • Must have Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing knowledge
  • Must possess the ability to work within tight tolerances such as thousandths

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in an aerospace or high precision manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience operating CNC multi-axis Milling machine
  • Good attitude and a willingness to learn a new trade or skill

Responsibilities

  • Run 3, 4 and 5 axis milling and/or turning machines
  • Run multiple machines simultaneously where possible/feasible
  • Work with hard metals such as Inconel, Titanium and Stainless Steel
  • Read English and interpret symbols on operation sheets
  • Use Fanuc controls and make offsets as required by the program
  • Load part onto a fixture
  • Load parts and fixtures onto hoists and operate hoist to load part onto machine
  • Read and interpret CNC Programs at the machine
  • Read tool sheets and set up tools for use on a job or part
  • Use precision measuring tools such as gauges, swing gauges, calipers, and micrometers
  • Operate Right-Angle Heads
