About The Position

This is a safety-sensitive position in a manufacturing setting. The CNC Mill Machinist will be responsible for producing parts on CNC machines according to specifications, setting up parts for different production jobs, testing machines after new program setups, and unloading and packaging parts according to EIMCo standards. The role also involves completing accurate daily records, following EIMCo documentation, informing quality control and supervisors of any issues, performing required inspections, conducting preventive maintenance, maintaining a clean work area, and complying with all safety policies and PPE requirements. Additionally, the position requires maintaining documentation, performing other assigned duties, and supporting team development through training and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Prior CNC experience
  • Mechanical background and machine operating experience are helpful
  • A willingness to learn and be trained on the EIMCo manufacturing process
  • General skills with hand and power tools
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem-solving and attention to detail
  • The ability to multitask on a wide variety of projects
  • Crane certification is required.

Nice To Haves

  • A high school diploma or GED with at least 1 year of industrial or manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Formal education or experience may be substituted with training when competency in the position is demonstrated.

Responsibilities

  • Check with the designated lead person on machine assignment and job assignment.
  • Discuss the machine's performance with current operators from the preceding shift and any possible difficulties encountered during the shift.
  • Produce parts on CNC machines according to specifications and within acceptable production requirements.
  • Set up parts for different production jobs.
  • Test out machines after the Programmer has set up a new program.
  • Unload and package parts according to EIMCo standards and customer requirements.
  • Complete accurate daily records (date, time, quantities of parts ran, and scrap) for every job worked on, on Shop Travelers and in the ERP system.
  • Follow instructions from all EIMCo documentation, including Shop Traveler, Inspection Sheets, and blueprints.
  • Inform quality control, shift supervisor/lead person of any problems or concerns with parts.
  • Accept responsibility for the quality of products/services provided and perform all required inspections under the EIMCo Quality Manual.
  • Perform required preventive maintenance on equipment, watch and listen for abnormal conditions, and immediately report any concerns to maintenance and/or shift supervisor/lead.
  • Maintain the assigned work area clean and orderly and comply with all 5S procedures.
  • Safely conduct all tasks and behaviors and comply with all EIMCO Safety Policies, including the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, as outlined in the EIMCo Safety Manual.
  • Maintain all required documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Supports team development by training teammates and sharing expertise to improve overall department capability.
