About The Position

The CNC Manufacturing Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality training in CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining, including setup, operation, safety, and programming of CNC equipment for the RAMI/TRAIN project in Brownsville and the COAST project in Corpus Christi. This role prepares students for careers in modern manufacturing by teaching CNC machining principals, G-code programming, tooling setup and operation. The CNC Manufacturing Assistance Instructor trains a broad audience including CNC operators, Production Supervisors and technicians in a variety of manufacturing companies through CNC courses which focus on improved production equipment performance. The CNC Manufacturing Assistance Instructor will use their knowledge of adult learning theories and learning styles to maximize learner success and ensure overall effectiveness of the course instruction. The CNC Manufacturing Assistance Instructor uses a variety of media to present course materials and is responsible for assisting in curriculum development projects to maintain course relevance and support customer needs. Assists in scheduling training deliveries, coordinates participant registration and logistics, compiles data, and ensures quality control measures are met. This position will be responsible for establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with students, customers and internal support personnel. This position is located in Brownsville, Texas and reports to the Project Manager - TRAIN Project.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, manufacturing, or applicable field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of hands-on CNC machining experience.
One year of experience in adult education and/or training of CNC operation principals.
Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Excellent facilitation, communication, and presentation skills necessary to interact with students, business and community leaders.
Proficient use of the principles and methods for instructing and training individuals and groups of various sizes.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Strong focus on customer service and student success.
Ability to multitask, work independently, collaborate with a team and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to present course material using a wide variety of media and technology.
Working knowledge of essential office software and instructional programs (Windows and macOS), Office Suites (Microsoft Office, G Suite), presentation software (PowerPoint, Keynote, Zoom).
Proficiency in CNC programming (G-code) and machine set-up.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish at a proficient level.
Experience operating CNC mills and lathes.
Understanding of machining principles, tooling and materials.
Knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Familiarity with advanced manufacturing automation, robotics and industry 4.0.

Providing positive reinforcement and motivational incentives.
Monitoring learner performance.
Evaluating and assessing instructional effectiveness.
Coordinating and collaborating with other personnel assigned to the program, other programs, divisions, and entities to maintain and further develop the program.
Assisting in the curriculum and technical assistance efforts in support of the RAMI/TRAIN and COAST Project, as well as other deliveries as assigned.
Providing status updates to the program director regarding change requests.
Working with points of contact from clients and jurisdictions for coordination, development, preparation efforts as needed.
Assisting in marketing courses.
Performing fiscal and administrative duties in a responsible manner.
Ensuring completion and collection of student attendance rosters, registration forms, pre-test/post-tests, course evaluations, and delivery records forms.
Submitting time worked and travel expenses/receipts within the required time frame.
Interacting professionally and respectfully with students, staff, and external partners.
Following all dress codes associated with work activity (i.e. Travel, workshop, in office, etc.).
Maintaining and safeguarding assigned divisional equipment and property.
Maintaining a professional appearance.
Maintaining an organized workspace.
Performing additional work duties as assigned.
