This role is focused on the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of CNC mills and lathes. CNC Maintenance Technicians are dedicated to ensuring equipment reliability, repeatability, and availability through preventive maintenance, precise repairs, and effective responsiveness. While CNC equipment is the primary responsibility, as a senior member of the maintenance department, the CNC Maintenance Technician supports all facilities and maintenance department operations and equipment and acts as a lead technician for all repairs and maintenance evolutions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 4-7 years of on-the-job experience in facility with CNC machine operations and management
  • Full working knowledge of tooling and methods used for troubleshooting and repair of machinery and equipment, which may include mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical, is required
  • Ability to use machine controls to actuate and test basic functions of equipment and machine tools, including entering G code commands utilizing MDI operation of CNCs
  • Ability to read and understand hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics
  • Knowledge of basic electricity (AC/DC theory, relays, switches, solenoids, fuses, breakers, etc.), power generation and distribution (including three-phase), electrical safety, lockout/tagout procedures, National Electric Code, digital multimeter operation, and motor theory and protection
  • Familiar with PLC logic principles and ability to read PLC ladder logic
  • General communication and organization skills
  • Basic PC skills with experience in Microsoft Office suite and CMMS systems (Limble experience preferred)
  • Experience with the application of measuring instruments and tools
  • Ability to operate equipment needed to perform job duties such as hoists, motorized pallet jacks, forklifts, boom lifts, and scissor lifts

Responsibilities

  • Work in a safe manner at all times, following the safety rules and regulations and proactively building and supporting a culture of Safety First.
  • Perform all work to or exceeding the quality standards of original manufacturers recommendations.
  • Maintain organization in assigned tool boxes and shop areas.
  • Respond quickly to unplanned downtime to restore production equipment to normal operations.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair CNC mills and lathes with a strong focus on machine availability and reliability.
  • Work efficiently, prioritizing repairs and maintenance to serve operational needs and production goals.
  • Utilize time properly by moving between preventive tasks, audits and inspections and unplanned repairs.
  • Work effectively by staying on task, communicating with production and maintenance leadership and learning and improving through iteration to minimize wrench time.
  • Arrive on time and prepared for the workday.
  • Work hours as scheduled and understand OT requirements to support operations.
  • Utilize the CMMS to track work hours and keep an effective record of time on jobs.
  • Support team members to complete all tasks, however important.
  • Coordinate with vendors to complete, installations, troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Support CMMS expansion and evolution through proper data entry and record keeping.
  • Additional duties as required or assigned by management and leadership.
