CNC MACHINIST (RAPTOR COMBUSTION DEVICES & VALVES) This role involves operating, setting up, and programming CNC machines to produce flight hardware for the Raptor program, ensuring rate targets are met. The position requires precision setups on state-of-the-art assets, prioritizing daily work for high machine uptime, and managing cutting tools. Responsibilities also include performing on and off-machine deburring, operating clean line equipment, CMM, and borescope, and conducting preventative maintenance. Maintaining the shop's cleanliness and organization, adapting to a fast-paced environment, and documenting processes are key. The role encourages introducing new ideas for machining efficiency and supporting teammates.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of experience in CNC machining

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience operating CNC machinery
  • Proficient knowledge in high efficiency milling and turning
  • Ability to read accurately, write clearly, and perform basic arithmetic calculations accurately
  • Experience in shop math, tooling technology, blueprint reading, and measurement of parts
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Strong interpersonal skills including, but not limited to, contributing to a team-oriented environment, balancing the team, and individual responsibilities
  • Capable and or has the capacity to learn all assets in the shop
  • Able and willing to cross train their peers and or to be cross trained by their peers

Responsibilities

  • Operate, setup, and program edit CNC machines, and flight hardware needed to achieve Raptor program rate targets
  • Perform precision set-ups of various CNC machines on state-of-the-art assets (DMG, Nigata, Heller)
  • Prioritize daily work to ensure ensure high machine uptime across the assigned shop / area
  • Manage cutting tools in CNC machines to ensure that machines have the needed cutting tools loaded and measured before they are called in upcoming programs
  • Perform on and off machine deburr of hardware to contribute consistent quality of parts
  • Operate clean line equipment, CMM, borescope, and general part finishing according to requirements
  • Perform CNC machine preventative maintenance on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Maintain the shop in terms of chip bins, oils, greases, 5S, and general upkeep activities
  • Remain flexible in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, and support teammates however possible
  • Complete work instructions and test plans to document needed data throughout each process
  • Introduce fresh ideas in machining, fixturing and tooling approach for optimal efficiency
