About The Position

Mid Continent Engineering is seeking a CNC Machinist to join their team. This is a 1st Shift opportunity, working Monday through Thursday from 6 am to 4:30 pm. Mid-Continent has been a supplier to first-tier OEMs within the medical, aerospace, and defense industries for decades, supplying products for the armed forces through precision machining, aerospace welding, chromate conversion, paint/powder coat finishing, mechanical assemblies, and other design-assist services.

Requirements

Horizontal CNC set-up experience.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, written instructions, and processing.
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
10+ years of CNC Machining experience or a combination of education & experience.

Nice To Haves

Degree from a two-year technical school.
Epicor ERP Software experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Analyze drawings, sketches, design data of parts to determine dimension & configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, machine speeds and feed rates.
Operate and set-up horizontal CNC Mill machines.
Perform progressive machining operations on a variety of standardized work, having close tolerances and finish requirements.
Responsible for checking the first part (in many cases completing production run).
Revise program to eliminate instruction errors or omissions.
Observe operation of machine on trial run to prove taped or programmed instructions.
Communicate any abnormalities in product or equipment.
Maintain machine coolant and chip levels.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
