About The Position

Under general supervision, produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centers; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies to manufacture metallic and nonmetallic parts.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer demands.
  • Able to use calipers, torque wrenches, jigs, fixtures, and other tools.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to measure accurately using a ruler or tape measure.
  • Participate in 5S related performance teams.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Problem-Solving ability.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data at a level 2 and 3.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Candidates must qualify as US Persons, defined as US Citizens or Permanent Residents (Green Card Holders).

Nice To Haves

  • Conversational in any other language is a plus.
  • Understanding and experience in Lean manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Basic interpretation of blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Measures, marks, and scribes’ dimensions and reference points on materials or work piece as guides for subsequent machining as necessary.
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls as required.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to drawing specifications.
  • Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Meets production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality.
  • Adheres to all factory safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Makes sure that workstation is clean, organized and free of hazardous materials.
  • Continue to grow lean knowledge and use the tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement.
  • Contributes to team effort in a collaborative and supportive manner.
  • Other duties as required in support of the department and the company.
