About The Position

Lake Air Products is looking for a Machinist for all shifts (1st, 2nd, and weekend shift) to join their team in New Hope, MN. They are seeking experienced CNC Machinists who can set up, operate, and program HAAS and Doosan CNC Machines (Vertical Mills).

Requirements

Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
Experience in milling and turning.
CNC experience with vertical machining centers including 4th axis.
Knowledge of advanced setup, machine feed, speed, and shop math.
Proven ability to program and an in-depth understanding of blueprint reading including GD&T.
Ability to program using Mastercam (CAD CAM SOFTWARE).
Basic understanding of manufacturing safety regulations and a willingness to always follow correct safety procedures.
Must be a team player with an excellent attitude.
Can work independently.
Willingness to work beyond a 40-hour week when business dictates.
Good communication and interaction skills.

Nice To Haves

Trade School education is a plus.
Doosan and/or KIA, Haas machining experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Knowledge in use of precision measuring instruments (calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, and scales).
Observe machine operation to detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications.
Measures and marks dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as a guide for subsequent machining.
Adjust machine feed and speed and change cutters to machine parts according to specifications as needed.
Detects equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
Set up CNC lathes, multi-axis lathes, and 4-axis horizontal milling, vertical milling machines.
Program and set up complex prototypes without assistance.
Studies and interprets drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and set up requirements.
