About The Position

The CNC Machinist is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating numerical computer control (CNC) machines to produce high-quality machined parts. This role ensures precision and efficiency in manufacturing by interpreting blueprints, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain punctual attendance, arriving on time and working until the end of shift. Notify the supervisor in advance of any tardiness or absences.
  • Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements.
  • Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.
  • Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces.
  • Maintains specifications by measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Accurately complete and submit daily production sheets to the supervisor.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow safety protocols and precise work instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and measurement tools.
  • Participate in safety training, emergency response drills, and incident reporting procedures.
  • Maintains a safe, compliant work environment by following OSHA and company standards and reporting hazards or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
  • Complies with PPE requirements and participates in safety training, drills, and incident reporting.
  • Ensure that all prints remain with the correct parts throughout the process.
  • Contributes to team effort and completes other duties as assigned.
