Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of Tool & Die, CNC precision machining experience
  • Excellent blueprint reading, mathematical, and mechanical abilities
  • Understanding of inspection, quality assurance methods and GD&T
  • Experience using precision measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and comparators
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and deadlines
  • Commitment to quality and producing quality work
  • Ability to work well independently and cooperatively with teammates
  • Willingness to learn and cross-train on different equipment
  • Able to comprehend written and verbal procedure
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to stand and work throughout an 8–10 hour shift

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate multi-axis CNC lathes and CNC mills
  • Prioritize, plan, and prepare work while establishing the appropriate sequence of machining operations
  • Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements
  • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on materials and workpieces
  • Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines including mills, lathes, jig bores, grinders, and shapers
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors or enter commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized CNC machine control media
  • Start and monitor machine operation, adjusting controls or media to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining
  • Inspect and verify dimensions of finished work piece to conformance of specifications using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, comparators, and gauge blocks
  • Verify conformance to engineering specifications and quality standards
  • Meet productivity expectations while consistently producing parts to customer specifications
