About The Position
As a CNC Machinist 1 at MKS Instruments, you will operate CNC lathe equipment to produce parts that must meet dimensional specifications. The operator will be responsible for the machining, cleaning, and inspection of his or her own work. In this role, you will report to the Manufacturing Specialist.
Requirements
- 6+ years of related experience required
- Requires machine shop experience, comprehensive knowledge and understanding of higher mathematics involved in the application of engineering principles and the performance of related operations, and completion of a formal apprenticeship program
Responsibilities
- Responsible for operating CNC equipment to fabricate parts
- Loads parts in machines, cycles machines, and detects malfunctions in machine operations such as worn or damaged tools
- Runs production lots
- Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management
- Performs inspection of machined products including documentation of results
- Maintains appropriate paperwork for various parts
