About The Position

NOV Texas Oil Tools, the leading specialty manufacturer and supplier of well control equipment for intervention operations, is seeking to hire CNC Machinists in Conroe, Texas.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two – three years experience in a production machine shop on CNC equipment.
  • Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry and algebra for the purpose calculating material fabrication.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job.
  • Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Good working knowledge of the oil and gas components.
  • Working knowledge of CNC lathes, CNC machining centers & CNC horizontal borers.
  • Knowledge of machine programming language (e.g. Mazatrol, Fanuc).
  • Understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, physical and drug test.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts, weekends, and changing work schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Quality parts produced on CNC machines such as, but not limited to, lathes and milling machines.
  • Loading parts, proving tapes, operating controls, setting offsets, advanced edits, deburring and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements.
  • Interpreting drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
  • Reporting dimensional discrepancies to supervisor as they occur.
  • Measuring and marking dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as a guide for subsequent machining.
  • Detecting equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine, within capabilities, controls or control media as required to ensure quality of production.
  • Reporting all machine malfunctions to immediate supervisor.
  • Reporting required tooling to supervisor and verifying raw material before starting job.
  • Following job operations as outlined on the work order and ensuring part number is on all parts during manufacturing.
  • Operating a forklift and lifting devices such as overhead cranes for movement of parts.
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
  • Following all safety and environmental policies and programs.
  • Using personal safety devices as required by company policy.
  • Reporting any activities that could be detrimental to safety and/or the loss of productivity and reporting any injuries when they occur.
  • Assisting in training of new personnel.
  • Cross-training in other areas as required to meet production schedules and/or manufacturing needs.
  • Working around chemicals in assigned departments.
  • Interfacing with manufacturing personnel.
  • Participating in continuous improvement activities.
  • Complying with all company policies and procedures.
  • Performing other work related duties as assigned.
