About The Position

We’re hiring CNC Machinists for our precision aerospace and defense manufacturing facility in Jamestown, NY. You’ll manufacture high-precision components supporting demanding aerospace and defense programs using CNC lathes and mills. We have opportunities for machinists with backgrounds in both turning and milling, with several of our current openings supporting CNC lathe operations. We’re looking for machinists with a strong CNC foundation who want to continue developing their skills in a precision manufacturing environment. Experience with setups, tooling, offsets, and programming is highly valued, but we have the ability to train and develop the right people based on their existing machining experience.

Requirements

  • Previous CNC machining experience
  • CNC lathe and/or mill experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and work instructions
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment
  • Ability to work 2nd shift
  • Strong attendance and stable employment history

  • Independent machine setup experience
  • Cutting tool and tooling knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC lathes and/or mills to manufacture precision aerospace and defense components.
  • Perform setups and changeovers based on job requirements and experience level.
  • Select, load, change, and monitor cutting tools throughout the machining process.
  • Make offsets and process adjustments to maintain part quality and dimensional requirements.
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to verify components meet specifications.
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing instructions.
  • Identify machining, tooling, and quality issues and make appropriate adjustments.
  • Maintain quality and productivity while supporting aerospace and defense production schedules.
