About The Position

Posimech is seeking a career-focused CNC Swiss Lathe Machinist for evening shifts. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who can work independently, think on their feet, and operate complex Swiss screw machines. This is a full-time, on-site role in Medford, NY. Part-time, afternoon, or evening hours may be considered for candidates with the right experience. Posimech is an AS9100/ISO9001 certified High-Mix/Low-Volume precision machine shop with 45 years of experience supplying critical parts for military aircraft, Boeing and Airbus projects, and other industries, including SpaceX. Requirements

  • 5+ years working in an aerospace, military, medical or industrial machine shop required.
  • Experience with Turning, Swiss, and/or Milling machines or CNC Machine Operator certificate required.
  • Experience in CNC machine set up and operation required. Including both legacy components and new production orders.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints required.
  • Experience holding tolerances to .0002" and .001 True Position.
  • Working knowledge of various materials & tools (inserts, endmills, drills Etc.) required.
  • Ability to use measuring tools as required (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
  • Good planning and organization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Must be dependable and possess a willingness to learn new techniques.
  • Must be a US person as defined by (ITAR) The International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
  • Must read, write and speak English.
  • Must be able to regularly stand and lift 20lbs, occasionally lift up to 50lb.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience editing and programming with CAD/CAM software and CNC programs a plus.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Verify components are produced to print (dimensional and visual inspection), holding tight tolerance of +/- .0002
  • Make offsets.
  • Start the machining cycle.
  • Load and unload parts in the machine.
  • Complete all paperwork related to production.
  • Change tooling as needed.
  • Meet quality standards and production schedules.
  • Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Ensure proper material control, identification, and traceability for conforming and nonconforming materials.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and follow occupational safety and health requirements, including PPE guidance
  • Support Quality Best Practices and contribute to continuous improvement
