Our Ogden manufacturing team plays an important role in producing the precision components that go into our suspension products. We are looking for dependable, mechanically skilled individuals who take pride in producing quality work. The CNC Machinist is a production machining position responsible for safely operating CNC mills and/or CNC lathes while meeting established productivity and quality standards. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to monitor machine performance, inspect finished parts, maintain tooling, and make necessary tooling and work-offset adjustments. CNC Machinists are also responsible for performing routine machine maintenance and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area. Swing Shift work available for extra pay.

Requirements

  • Previous CNC machining or CNC production experience.
  • Ability to operate CNC mills and/or CNC lathes.
  • Working knowledge of G-code and M-code.
  • Ability to change, touch off, and adjust CNC tooling.
  • Ability to adjust tooling and work offsets.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and manufacturing drawings.
  • Ability to use measuring and inspection equipment to verify part dimensions.
  • Basic math skills applicable to machining and dimensional inspection.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must successfully pass a dimensional inspection test.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and conceptual problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Dependable with a strong record of attendance and punctuality.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Sound judgment and ability to recognize and report potential problems.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating multiple CNC machines simultaneously.
  • Experience in an automotive, suspension, or precision manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures for CNC equipment.
  • Previous experience working in a production-focused machine shop.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate CNC equipment while following all company safety procedures and regulations.
  • Work under the direction of the Shift Lead while operating up to two CNC mills or two CNC lathes.
  • Meet established production and productivity goals while maintaining quality standards.
  • Monitor cutting tools for wear and replace tooling as necessary.
  • Change and touch off tooling and perform program restarts.
  • Understand basic G-code and M-code and make appropriate tooling and work-offset adjustments.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, dimensions, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Measure finished parts and verify dimensions against blueprint requirements.
  • Accurately complete dimensional inspection sheets and other required quality documentation.
  • Deburr finished components and install hardware as required.
  • Maintain proper coolant levels and monitor coolant concentration.
  • Empty chip bins and properly separate materials for recycling.
  • Complete required preventive maintenance (PM) on CNC equipment according to established schedules.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift.
  • Sweep and mop the work area at the end of each shift and as needed.
  • Identify and report equipment, tooling, quality, or production issues to the Shift Lead.
