About The Position

Sonaca North America is seeking a Machinist for its 1st and 2nd shift. The Machinist operates computer numerical control (CNC) machines and conventional machines to fabricate parts. This role involves loading parts into the machine, cycling the machine, and detecting malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools. The position also includes running production lots, communicating with coworkers about production runs, and maintaining a safe, organized, and clean work environment. The Machinist will support Sonaca North America’s Quality Policy, Mission Statement, and other Company policies and procedures, contributing to total customer satisfaction, quality products and services, lean processes, continuous improvement, on-time delivery, safety, teaming, individual accountability, and respect for people.

Requirements

• High school diploma or high school equivalency preferred (candidates without will be required to take a pre-employment assessment)
• Trade school for machining practices preferred
• Math skills to perform basic calculations
• Read and interpret blue prints
• Demonstrate attention to detail
• Ability to read measuring equipment (Calipers/Micrometers)
• Able to concentrate, focus, and pay strict attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Run production on CNC machining center
• Check and monitor the parts that are being run
• Ensure quality standards are being met
• Produce the proper amount of parts per machine cycle time
• Deburr and blend all parts that are machined
• Perform daily maintenance on machines including: maintaining fluid levels, emptying chips, wiping down machine to remove coolant, dust and debris
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Fill out and maintain paperwork as necessary
• Ensure attendance and punctuality
