About The Position

Dover Precision Components (DPC) is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist for its 2nd shift operations. This role involves setting up and operating manual and CNC machine tools to produce high-quality plastic or metal workpieces according to exacting tolerances. The machinist will be responsible for determining optimal speeds and feeds, visualizing finished products, identifying blueprint errors, and performing final inspections. The position primarily utilizes Mazak and HAAS equipment and requires a strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

Requirements

Excellent mechanical skills.
Good shop math skills.
Ability to operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining.
Ability to read blueprints and plans to apply to set up and process.
Minimum of 3 years of shop experience or equivalent trade school apprenticeship.
Technical training in shop math and blueprint reading is necessary to perform the job.

Nice To Haves

College coursework or other formal training in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints with ease.
Select the proper tools and perform machine set ups to obtain very close tolerances, fitting and alignment of machined parts.
Inspect first pieces of a run, work-in-progress parts and final completed parts using a wide variety of measuring devices to ensure quality standards.
Utilizes Geometric Dimension & Tolerance as called out on print.
Operates fabrication machinery to produce parts used in manufacturing processes. Mostly on Mazak and HAAS equipment.
Ensures proper machine set up and accurate interpretation of prints and specifications to prevent damage to material.
Detects errors with frequent tolerance/quality checks.
