About The Position

McWilliams Forge, a growing company supporting the aerospace industry, is seeking a machinist familiar with turning machines. The role involves setting up and operating a variety of machines, including milling, turning, drilling, and grinding, to work to close tolerances from drawings with little or no guidance. The shift hours are Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:15 PM.

Requirements

• Previous manufacturing experience (3+ years)
• Willingness to learn
• Experience with tight tolerances and high-precision parts
• Knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds, and materials

Nice To Haves

• CNC programming experience (G-code, Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.)
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines)
• Load programs, install tooling, and set work offsets
• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
• Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
• Maintain accurate production and inspection records
• Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures
• Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and supervisors to improve processes
