About The Position

We’re looking for an experienced CNC Milling Setup Machinist with a strong milling or lathe foundation who can independently set up complex, tight-tolerance work, troubleshoot problems, and make adjustments at the machine. Requirements

  • CNC machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment
  • Independent CNC machine setup
  • Strong blueprint reading and dimensional inspection
  • Experience machining complex, tight-tolerance
  • Ability to troubleshoot and make adjustments at the machine
  • Experience using micrometers, indicators, height gauges, bore gauges, and other precision measuring equipment

Nice To Haves

  • 3-axis, 4-axis, and/or 5-axis CNC milling
  • Working knowledge of G-code and CNC program
  • Matsuura, Yasda, Makino, Feeler, Fanuc, or similar machine
  • Mastercam
  • Strong GD&T
  • Aerospace, defense, semiconductor, medical, or other high-precision manufacturing experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform complete CNC milling setups for complex precision components.
  • Set tooling, fixtures, workholding, offsets, and work coordinates.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, dimensions, and tolerances.
  • Prove out jobs and make necessary adjustments at the machine.
  • Diagnose and resolve tooling, workholding, dimensional, and machining issues.
  • Make G-code, tooling, and offset adjustments as necessary.
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
  • Maintain tight tolerances and ensure finished components meet customer and engineering requirements.
  • Work with CNC programmers, engineering, and quality to improve machining processes.
  • Support both new and established jobs across a variety of complex components.
