About The Position

Set up, operate, and maintain HAAS CNC machining equipment to produce precision components that meet engineering and customer specifications. This is a hands-on manufacturing position requiring experience with FANUC controls, conventional manual lathe operation, and precision inspection techniques. The ideal candidate is a self-sufficient machinist capable of troubleshooting machining issues, maintaining dimensional accuracy, and supporting production goals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of hands-on CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience setting up and operating HAAS CNC machines.
  • Working knowledge of FANUC controls, including program editing, offset adjustments, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience operating conventional/manual lathe machines.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T callouts.
  • Proficiency using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, indicators, and bore gauges.
  • Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling selection, feeds and speeds, and material characteristics.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing precision components.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating a surface grinder.
  • CNC programming experience.
  • Experience machining stainless steel, aluminum, tool steels, and other aerospace or industrial materials.
  • Technical school certification, apprenticeship, or formal machining training.
  • Experience working in a quality-driven manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate HAAS CNC machines to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Edit, adjust, and troubleshoot machining programs using FANUC controls.
  • Perform machine setups, including tooling installation, workholding configuration, offset adjustments, and first article verification.
  • Operate conventional/manual lathe machines for secondary operations, repair work, prototypes, and custom machining tasks.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
  • Inspect finished and in-process parts using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Monitor machine performance and adjust maintain dimensional accuracy, surface finish requirements, and production efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and equipment issues and communicate concerns to supervision as needed.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Accurately record production data, inspection results, and job-related documentation.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization efforts.
