About The Position

The CNC Machinist is responsible for producing machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies. This position is eligible for a $1,500 sign on bonus. $750 at 90 days and remainder paid out at completion of 180 days.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Machining Technology or related field plus three (3) years of CNC machining experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming (G-code and conversational), blueprint interpretation, and GD&T.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to use dimensional measuring tools, perform geometric calculations, and troubleshoot machine malfunctions.
  • Proficient with CNC machining software, arc/radius programming, and tool compensation techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 75 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently, and perform fine motor tasks.
  • Must have close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
  • PPE required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with FANUC controls, Haas mill/lathe machining, and CMM (coordinate-measuring machine) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to production schedules by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, material specifications, and machining parameters, and interpret complex geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC machines by entering instructions, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches using G-code and/or conversational programming, with minimal assistance.
  • Load raw material safely and verify setup by measuring positions and first-run parts to ensure compliance with international standards.
  • Monitor part specifications during drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, and facing operations.
  • Identify malfunctions, apply troubleshooting techniques, and make corrective adjustments to programs or replace worn tools as needed.
