About The Position

Anderson Express (AE) is a women-owned, world-class manufacturer specializing in aluminum casting, CNC machining, and assembly of customer-engineered components. We are a growing Tier 1 supplier serving the automotive, military, and power generation markets. We are the go-to supplier for Ford Motor Company on complex, fast-moving, highly engineered programs that demand precision, urgency, and problem-solving at a high level. We are looking for a skilled, dependable CNC Machinist to join our team on 2nd Shift and help us produce high-quality parts, on-time for complex, customer-engineered programs. This is a hands-on position responsible for changeovers, tool offsets, tooling replacement, machine operation, inspection, and supporting operators. An experienced CNC Machinist helps reduce downtime and build an effective, efficient workforce.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of CNC Operator experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to work in a shop setting.
  • Good math and analytical skills.
  • Ability to count accurately.
  • Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand technical drawings, metrology, and GD&T.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be eligible to work on programs subject to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations). Therefore, candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (“Green Card”).

Responsibilities

  • Perform changeovers to new jobs as needed.
  • Touch off tools and change tool offsets to ensure quality parts.
  • Inspect and replace damaged tooling.
  • Load programs for parts to be run.
  • Properly load and unload parts into CNC machines.
  • Check parts using various types of metrology equipment, including calipers, micrometers, pin gages, thread gages, ring gages, refractometer, scales, CMM, etc.
  • Qualify good and bad parts and sort accordingly.
  • Understand technical drawings, metrology, and GD&T.
  • Train operators as needed.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with CNC Operators and Assembly personnel.
  • Help reduce downtime and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the workforce.
  • Clock in and out of jobs and log time correctly.
  • Accurately count good and bad parts and log information accurately and timely into ERP.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
