Weir Minerals is seeking a CNC Machinist to operate and set up various machines, including drill press, engine lathe, turret lathe, CNC lathe, and machining centers, to produce precision parts. The role involves working from complex blueprints, performing troubleshooting, and ensuring high-quality output with tight tolerances. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
1+ years of manual CNC machining experience with strong mill and lathe skills
Experience in die sharpening and tool changeovers
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings

Nice To Haves

Experience working with Fanuc controls
Assembly or casting experience
Familiarity with troubleshooting and minor CNC program edits

Responsibilities

Operate and set up various machines including drill press, engine lathe, turret lathe, CNC lathe, and machining centers to produce precision parts such as volutes, shells, liners and impellers.
Prove out setups, produce pilot workpieces for inspection, diagnose machine or tooling malfunctions, and make corrective adjustments.
Work from complex blueprints, part drawings, specifications, and setup instructions.
Perform troubleshooting, minor CNC program edits, and efficiency improvements.
Perform manual milling and lathe machining with 200,000-500,000 micrometers.
Manage multi-tooled arrangements with several operations requiring tight tolerances and critical dimensional relationships.
Perform die sharpening, die and tool changeovers, and replacements to ensure smooth machine operation and quality output.
