About The Position

The position focuses primarily on setup and operation of a multi-spindle, multi-turret lathe. The machinist applies inspection techniques to monitor the CNC process and collaborates with colleagues to maximize productivity while manufacturing high-quality valves and actuators for aerospace and power generation customers.

Requirements

• Be a US Person as defined in applicable export regulations, or a non-US person eligible to obtain required export authorization.
• Experience setting up and operating multi-axis CNC machinery, with a minimum of 3-axis lathe experience.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to work from complex drawings containing GD&T.
• Ability to perform accurate manual inspections of parts produced.
• Solid understanding of G-code.

Nice To Haves

• Technical certification or degree.
• Experience with 4/5-axis horizontal mills and pallet lines.
• Ability to program machines.
• Experience with low-volume, high-mix production.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret complex blueprints, shop travelers, and operation sketches for machined and/or fabricated parts.
• Inspect parts to specifications and document results.
• Install fixtures and set work offsets.
• Use an offline tool pre-setter to prepare and set tools needed for machining operations.
• Diagnose deviations and trends accurately and efficiently, and adjust offsets to maintain product quality based on the analysis.
• Report machinery, tooling, or quality issues to the supervisor.
• Run multiple machine centers as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
