As a CNC Machinist 3rd Shift in Middlefield, CT, you will work in a collaborative team environment with state-of-the-art equipment where you will be responsible for operating machines to perform combinations of machining operations in our cutting-edge Optics group.

Requirements

High School Diploma (preferably at a trade school).
1+ years of hands-on production machining experience.
Safety first, continuous improvement/ high quality mindset.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and process routings.
Working knowledge of shop math and theory.
Collaborative team player with a focus on problem-solving and ability to communicate with, influence and mentor others.
Driven to achieve with the ability to take initiative, be resilient and flexible with shifting priorities.
Capable to lift and move up to 70 lbs. and standing for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree or Certificate in machining, metrology and manufacturing operations a plus.

Responsibilities

Operate CNC and non-CNC machines to perform machining operations, including but not limited to drilling, milling and shaping glass material to specifications.
Assemble cutting tools and position tools in machine spindles according to requirements.
Write, load, edit and store programs to produce accurately machined parts.
Work from complex drawings, sketches, specifications and written/verbal instructions.
Perform complex set-ups to operate machinery on assignments that are new and unusual.
Partner with engineering teams as required.
