The CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC mills or multi-axis machines. This role requires interpreting blueprints, CAD drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications. The machinist will load and edit CNC programs using G-code and CAM software, select appropriate tooling, fixtures, feeds, and speeds for optimal machining performance, and perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks. Troubleshooting machine, tooling, and production issues to minimize downtime is a key responsibility, as is maintaining tight tolerances and high-quality surface finishes. The role involves monitoring production runs, adjusting machine offsets, and training/mentoring junior machinists. Collaboration with engineering and quality teams on process improvements, performing preventive maintenance, and maintaining a clean, safe work area are also expected. Compliance with OSHA and company safety standards, and accurate documentation of setups, inspections, and production data are required.
