About The Position

Sonaca North America is seeking a Machinist for their 1st shift (M-Th, 6:00am-4:30pm). The Machinist operates computer numerical control machines and conventional machines to fabricate parts. This role involves loading parts into machines, operating them, and detecting malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools. The position also includes running production lots, communicating with coworkers about production runs, and maintaining a safe, organized, and clean work environment. All actions must support Sonaca North America’s Quality Policy, Mission Statement, and other Company policies and procedures, including commitments to customer satisfaction, quality products and services, lean processes, continuous improvement, on-time delivery, safety, teaming, individual accountability, and respect for people.

Requirements

• Math skills to perform basic calculations
• Read and interpret blue prints
• Demonstrate attention to detail
• Ability to read measuring equipment. (Calipers/Micrometers)
• High school diploma or high school equivalency preferred. Candidates that do not have a high school diploma or high school equivalency will be required to take a pre-employment assessment to be considered for the role.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• International Traffic in Arms Regulation/Export Administration Regulations (ITAR/EAR) clearance is required.
• 2 Years’ experience with CNC machining or Enrolled in Machining Program at a Technical College
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud
• Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor including, but not limited to, eye, ear, and foot protection
• May occasionally lift and /or move up to 10-50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Load/unload parts on CNC machines to support maximum spindle utilization time
• Inspect and monitor parts as they are completed on the machine.
• Deburr and blend all parts that are machined
• Perform daily maintenance on machines including: maintaining fluid levels, emptying chips, wiping down machine to remove coolant, dust and debris.
• Maintain an organized clean and safe work environment.
