About The Position
Sydor Optics, Inc. is a Rochester based manufacturing company fabricating flat-surfaced, precision optics for over 50 years. Our manufacturing facility is in Chili, NY just west of the Rochester International Airport. Our Sales Team works closely with customers to assist them with custom requests for a variety of markets ranging from entertainment, semiconductor, medical, military and more. The CNC Machinist/Set-Up Person is responsible for set-up and operation of HAAS and Fanuc CNC mills.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience as a CNC Machinist/CNC Machine Set-up person.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with HAAS Machines/Fanuc Robodrill, a plus.
- Optical experience, a plus.
Responsibilities
- Set-up and operate HAAS and Fanuc CNC mills/Techno Router.
- Review and interpret blueprints (GDT preferred).
- Run a manual mill and lathe for fixturing/engineering support.
- Handling, waxing, fixturing, machining and cleaning glass materials.
- Monitor machines/parts adjusting offsets as determined by programmers.
- Perform measurements and conduct quality checks on in-process/completed parts.
- Use Calipers, Micrometers, Vision System, etc. to verify work.
- Perform routine machine/coolant maintenance.
- Maintain cleanliness of area/tools.
- Participate in 5S and lean manufacturing practices.
- Perform other duties as needed and assigned.
