About The Position

This senior-level position is responsible for programming, setting up, operating, and optimizing CNC machining centers while producing high-precision components that meet demanding quality standards. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong programming skills, extensive setup experience, and the ability to troubleshoot complex machining issues while mentoring less experienced machinists.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
7+ years of CNC machining and programming experience.
Strong experience with CNC mills and/or CNC lathes.
Proficient with G-code programming and CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM, Esprit, or similar).
Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Okuma, Mazak, Mitsubishi, or similar controls.
Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
Experience machining tight tolerance precision components.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Technical or vocational machining education preferred.

Responsibilities

Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using CAM software and machine controls.
Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes with minimal supervision.
Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, engineering drawings, and CAD models.
Select tooling, workholding, cutting parameters, and machining strategies.
Perform first article inspections and verify dimensional accuracy using precision measuring equipment.
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, and quality issues to maximize efficiency.
Optimize cycle times while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Recommend process improvements that reduce cost and improve throughput.
Perform machine offsets, tool changes, and preventive maintenance.
Work closely with Engineering and Quality to resolve manufacturing challenges.
Train and mentor junior machinists and setup personnel.
Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation.
Follow all company safety policies and quality procedures.
