About The Position

The CNC Machinist (Mill) plays a vital role in our operations by setting up, and operating computer numerical control (CNC) Mill machines. They are responsible for maintaining safety and quality standards, documenting procedures, and ensuring equipment upkeep to support the achievement of Masterbilt’s business goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • Minimum of two years of manufacturing experience required
  • Minimum of two years of CNC Machining experience required
  • Proficient with CNC Mill-turn machines including but not limited to: HAAS VF-5 TR, HAAS UMC750, DMG Mori DMU 80 eVo with Heidenhain control, Haas GM-2, Daewoo 3 and 4-Axis mills with FANUC control, Matsuura mills with FANUC control
  • Understand and accurately complete all job-related paperwork.
  • Proficient in using micrometers, calipers, and simple gaging tools.
  • Strong blueprint reading skills to ensure accurate part processing.
  • Ability to work independently and closely follow directions
  • Fundamental knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and techniques
  • Fundamental knowledge of CNC machining/manufacturing machining principles
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent communication skills (both interpersonal and written).
  • Willingness to embrace and actively support the unique culture and values of Masterbilt
  • Ability to focus on the tasks and details relevant to the position, while also switching quickly between tasks
  • Ability to comply with and pass all required background check and drug screening requirements, including but not limited to pre-employment and random drug screening as required/requested.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle, as required for travel in the role
  • Ability to stand for up to 6-8 hours in one session
  • Ability to sit at desk for 2+ hours per day
  • Ability to operate keyboard and view computer screen as needed throughout the day
  • Ability to write ideas/information in a logical flow as needed throughout the day
  • Ability to read and respond on an on-going basis daily due to nature of the work, throughout the day
  • Ability to communicate with others via phone, in-person, and computer on-going
  • Ability to listen to customers, employees and peers, problem-solve, and respond accordingly
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, squat, twist, push, pull, and carry items frequently
  • Lifting up to 75 lbs. sporadically

Responsibilities

  • Plan machining processes by studying work orders, blueprints, and specifications, and interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Set up machines by installing and adjusting chucks, tools, and attachments.
  • Maintain specifications by observing operations, taking measurements, troubleshooting processes, and adhering to quality assurance procedures.
  • Ensure safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment and troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality logs and staying updated with industry advancements through continuous learning.
  • Perform other duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned.
