CNC Machinist IV - CNC Milling - First Shift
About The Position
The AZ CNC Machinist IV specializing in CNC Mill operations plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by producing precision components that meet stringent quality standards. This position requires the ability to interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings to set up, operate, and maintain CNC mill machines effectively. The machinist will be responsible for ensuring that all parts are manufactured to exact specifications, utilizing advanced machining techniques and tools. Collaboration with engineering and quality assurance teams is essential to troubleshoot issues and optimize production processes. Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall efficiency and success of the manufacturing operation by delivering high-quality machined parts on the first shift schedule.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience operating CNC mill machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming and machine setup.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a formal CNC machining or manufacturing technology program.
- Experience with Fanuc, Mazak, Haas CNC control systems.
- Familiarity with ISO quality standards and lean manufacturing principles.
- Ability to program CNC lathes using G-code.
- Previous experience working in a high-mix, low-volume production environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision parts according to engineering specifications.
- Interpret and analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Monitor machining processes and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with quality control to inspect finished parts and ensure compliance with dimensional and surface finish standards.
- Document production activities, machine settings, and maintenance performed in accordance with company procedures.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
