About The Position

The CNC Machinist III sets up and operates computer numerical control (CNC) machines, including lathes, mills, and vertical turret lathes (VTLs), to produce precision metal parts. The role involves determining material dimensions and tolerances and sequencing machining operations by studying blueprints, sketches, routers, and technical planning documents. The machinist performs complex to potentially difficult assignments using machine tools ranging from multiple-axis lathes to mills, and uses precision measuring tools to verify work accuracy. The position is based at Zenix Aerospace Jet Products in San Diego, California. Jet Products machines complex rings and ring components from titanium, nickel, cobalt, stainless steel, and aluminum alloys for aerospace applications, including airframe structural rings and assemblies, nacelle and thrust-reverser components, and turbine engine rings and cases.
