About The Position

Graco manufactures and markets premium equipment to move, measure, control, dispense and spray a wide variety of fluid and powder materials. This role operates CNC machines in a productive and safe manner to produce parts that meet Graco’s quality standards at the lowest cost in a timely manner while minimizing the waste of materials and resources.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 2-year degree in Machine Tool Technology or a CNC Machining program
  • Minimum of 2+ years of CNC Machining experience in milling and turning.
  • Must have strong PC skills and the ability to work with Microsoft products.
  • SPC Theory, SPC Software, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand CNC programs and operational layouts as required.
  • Understand tooling requirements to set-up and operate machines in the department, including pre-setting of tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform a sequence of operations under minimum supervision and consistently maintain the performance level set for quality and quantity.
  • Understanding of safety rules and regulations to prevent unsafe set-ups, operations, or acts, which might cause injury to self, others, or environment.
  • Good interpersonal written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work through daily operational activities.
  • Ability to plan effectively and execute the plans.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent and unrestricted basis.

Nice To Haves

  • A completed 2-year degree in machining or machine technology is required to be promoted to the next level (transcript is required) along with required time in grade and completed promotional checklist.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up, adjust, and operate a variety of CNC machines within a department.
  • Assist in process development with engineers, quality technicians and supervisors.
  • Follow set-up procedures and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area.
  • Adjusts tools and replace them as necessary.
  • Perform necessary side operations during machine cycle time as required.
  • Work as a team member to aid all shifts and support personnel to operate to departmental standards including quality and productivity goals.
  • Read and understand layouts, job packets, and blueprints for the parts being run (includes Geometric Tolerancing).
  • Provide accurate inventory counts at all times and keep parts in appropriate parts storage areas.
  • Collect and use SPC data which may involve the use of comparator, CMM, Trimos, gages, and related test instruments.
  • Perform daily maintenance of machines as required and keeps the supervisor informed of necessary maintenance beyond operator assigned maintenance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
