About The Position

Department 129 has an opening for a First Shift CNC Machining Mill Operator. This job will consist of setting up and running various CNC machine center jobs throughout the machining department.

Requirements

Must understand and be able to read and utilize machined part prints.
Must have a working mechanical aptitude.
Must be able to use hand tools and grinders.
Must have basic math skills: Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and conversion between decimals & fractions.
All CNC Machine Level C essential qualifications met and 2-3 years or demonstration.
Must be able to pass Level B Mill test (Written and demonstration).

Nice To Haves

Experience with and ability to use overhead power cranes.

Responsibilities

Setting up and running various CNC machine center jobs throughout the machining department.
Perform all mill setups with minimal help.
Train others in the department on all mills.
Read and understand programs.
Use all measurement equipment in the department.
Perform tool touch off and offset adjustments on all mills.
Make judgment of tool life and application.
Know what to do when a machine stops unexpectedly.
Make judgment of undesirable machined surface finish and what to do to correct.
Adjust speeds & feeds.
Perform basic troubleshooting.
Set up and run parts with minimal scrap.
Run multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously.
Maintain an average efficiency % => the Department average.
Follow written and verbal instruction.
Lift 40 pounds with manual dexterity.
Operate overhead power cranes.
Operate forklift, hand truck, material handling equipment, etc.
Produce quality parts, to print, at the routed rate and in a safe manner while maintaining accuracy of counts, and part numbers.
