About The Position

Your 2nd-Shift Story at Ingersoll Rand It’s 4:00pm in Alsip, IL. You clock in, review the job queue, and set up a CNC machine for a tight-tolerance run. As parts cycle, you inspect and deburr, then preset tooling for the next scheduled job to keep throughput high. A machine anomaly pops up—you diagnose, resolve, and log the countermeasure, then update the cell’s visual controls so the next handoff is seamless. Along the way, you contribute ideas to the next SMED and Kaizen event, always elevating safety and quality. Role Snapshot Internal leveling aligns with CNC Machine Operator II. Location: Alsip, IL Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4:00pm–12:30am (2nd Shift)

Requirements

3+ years as a CNC maintenance mechanic.
3+ years navigating OSP, Fanuc, and Haas controls.
3+ years repairing/troubleshooting turret alignment, spindle/motor replacements, and rebuilding machine components; able to train others.
3+ years installing and repairing electrical supply at various voltages for CNC equipment.
3+ years designing and implementing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
3+ years defining and performing daily/weekly/monthly/semi-annual/annual maintenance plans for CNC assets.

Nice To Haves

Fanuc robot experience.
Basic fabrication and welding capability.

Responsibilities

Execute standard work for CNC setup, running parts, and preventive maintenance activities.
Inspect, deburr, and perform manual ops; operate related equipment as needed.
Select and preset tools required for upcoming jobs to minimize downtime.
Maintain and update visual controls; propose and support countermeasures.
Engage in SMED, Kaizen, and 5 Whys problem-solving to drive continuous improvement.
Troubleshoot and report equipment abnormalities promptly.
Champion safety procedures—proactively identify, stop, and report unsafe practices to protect people and property.
