About The Position

As a CNC Machine operator, you will read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. You will set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template. Position the workpiece against stops or align layout marks with die or blade. You will push buttons or depress pedals to activate the machine, and observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction. Measure workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation. Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpiece with powered hand tools. Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces. Perform minor program changes, properly save and check them. Machine operators are to set up the machine, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished workpieces. You will also rivet and/or spot weld workpieces.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • 1+ years of assembly experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Must possess the ability to use tools and equipment that are needed to perform the job.
  • Must have good listening and communication skills.
  • Able to work well with others to be a good team player.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
  • Secures materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information containers.
  • Makes simple adjustments and performs routine preventive maintenance.
  • Assembles crates or boxes to contain products such as machines or vehicles.
  • Cleans work area, spillage, and equipment as required.
