As a CNC Machine operator, you will read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. You will set stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or template. Position the workpiece against stops or align layout marks with die or blade. Push buttons or depress pedals to activate the machine. Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction. Measure workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation. Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpiece with a powered hand tool. Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces. Perform minor program changes, properly save and check them. Machine operators are to set up the machine, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished workpieces. Rivet and/or spot weld workpieces.
