About The Position

This role is for a CNC Machine Operator on the 3rd shift, working from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am, with overtime as needed. The job is within a climate-controlled environment and involves various physical tasks, including lifting and operating machinery. Comprehensive training is provided, and ContiTech USA, LLC in Valparaiso, Indiana proudly supports trades with its Registered Apprenticeship Program for emerging Machinists.

Requirements

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant CNC machining experience.
  • Ability to work 8-hour shift.
  • Ability to lift to 25 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant CNC machining experience.
  • Intermediate maintenance experience.
  • Ability to perform tasks outside of department.
  • Intermediate experience working with steel and aluminum, hoist operation, measurement capabilities, blueprint reading, machine programming, and basic safety procedures.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant CNC machining experience.
  • Advanced experience working with steel and aluminum, hoist operation, measurement capabilities, blueprint reading, machine programming, and basic safety procedures.
  • CMM experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant CNC machining experience.
  • Advanced maintenance experience.
  • Expert level experience working with steel and aluminum, hoist operation, measurement capabilities, blueprint reading, machine programming, and basic safety procedures.
  • Journeyworker Certification
  • Industry-Recognized machining certifications

Responsibilities

  • Operating CNC machining equipment following a production schedule.
  • Accurately labeling parts.
  • Stamping parts as needed.
  • Moving finished parts to the proper areas.
  • Keeping the machine filled with coolant.
  • Ensuring that refractometer readings are within acceptable levels.
  • Monitoring and filling the way oil reservoir.
  • Maintaining a clean workstation adhering to 5S standards.
  • Programming and machining new fixtures.
  • Training new employees.
  • Programming and machining prototype parts and new jobs.
