About The Position

Become a Key Player as a CNC Machine Operator. You will keep production moving by setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC mills, lathes, and mill-turn centers. Your work directly affects part quality, on-time delivery, and collaboration with engineering and production teams. This is an onsite role covering 2nd or 3rd shift (3:00 PM–11:30 PM or 11:00 PM–7:30 AM); please note preferred shift on your resume.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2–4 years of experience working with CNC machines (mills, lathes, mill-turn)
  • Ability to read blueprints, prints, and process specifications
  • Practical experience with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, depth gauges) and tool setting equipment
  • Working knowledge of CNC controls and software (Fanuc, Haas, Mazatrol, Fagor, Siemens referenced)
  • Understanding of work offsets, tool offset parameters, GD&T fundamentals, and CAD-CAM concepts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently or in teams
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/push up to 50 pounds regularly

Nice To Haves

  • Experience training others and documenting processes
  • Familiarity with presetters, shrink-fit tooling, and advanced CNC programming techniques

Responsibilities

  • Edit, set up, operate, and perform preventive maintenance on CNC machines and production support equipment
  • Read manufacturing prints and machine drawings to ensure correct tooling, fixturing, offsets, and process parameters
  • Load and vet NC programs, adjust offset tables, and maintain/replace cutting tools
  • Program pre-setters and shrink-fit equipment; set tool life parameters and understand macro programming/subroutines
  • Measure and record in-process QA data, perform calibration checks, and electronically document production data
  • Operate material handling equipment (hoists, cranes, tow motors) and move material to enable production flow
  • Train and assist less-skilled machinists and operators; communicate with engineering to resolve program or process issues
  • Perform 1st-piece prove outs and ensure workholding alignment using indicators, micrometers, and calipers
  • Maintain 6S/housekeeping standards and use required PPE; be available for overtime as needed
